Slow Cooker Barbecue Cola Chicken

This super simple shredded barbecue chicken is the perfect easy meal for those busy week nights!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 lemon cut into quarters
  • 1 onion cut into chunks
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce plus more for serving
  • 1 12 oz. can Coke
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns for serving

Instructions

  • Place chicken, lemon, onion, barbecue sauce, cola and garlic in a lightly greased slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours. Shred chicken with two forks. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Serve on hamburger buns with extra barbecue sauce, if desired.
