Turkey Chili Taco Bowls

Homemade turkey chili is served over corn chips with all of your favorite taco toppings!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Honeysuckle White ground turkey or lean ground turkey
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz. can pinto beans
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • One bag of your favorite corn chips

Optional taco toppings:

  • Chopped lettuce
  • Diced tomato
  • Sliced green onion
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheese
  • Sliced jalapeno
  • Chopped avocado
  • Shredded cheese

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large stock pot over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and brown while breaking the meat apart with a wooden spoon.
  • When turkey is almost done, add the onions and garlic and cook a few minutes longer. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder and cayenne.
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Stir in the beans and sugar, then season with salt and pepper, to taste. Cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  • While the chili cooks, prepare your taco toppings. To serve, fill bowls with about 3/4 cup of corn chips. Top with chili, then your desired taco toppings. Enjoy!
