Cherry 7UP is combined with frozen pineapple juice and lemonade in this refreshing drink!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Summer is right around the corner! And that means we’ll be hanging out in the back yard enjoying refreshing drinks like this Sparkling Cherry Pineapple Lemonade.
The sparkle, as well as the cherry flavor in this drink comes from the Cherry 7UP. You can use regular or diet, whichever you prefer. I picked up some of each (since I like diet) on my latest trip to Walmart last week.
You won’t believe how easy it is to mix up this fun, fruity beverage. All you need is pineapple juice, your favorite lemonade, and some Cherry 7UP.
And don’t forget the lemon wedges, maraschino cherries and fresh mint for garnish!
To make my Cherry Pineapple Lemonade extra cold on those warm summer days, I like to freeze my pineapple juice in ice-cube trays and add it to the drink that way.
This also ensures maximum flavor, since there isn’t any melting ice to dilute all of the great flavors in your beverage.
Simply fill the bottom of an 8-12 ounce glass about one-fourth full of pineapple ice cubes, then add equal parts lemonade and Cherry 7UP. Add a few garnishes and a colorful straw and sit back and relax.
If you forget to freeze your pineapple juice ahead of time, go ahead and mix up some of this Sparkling Cherry Pineapple Lemonade anyway, then toss in some ice cubes to make it cold. It will still be delicious and refreshing!
If you’re serving a crowd, you can easily adapt this recipe for a punch bowl-sized recipe.
Instead of freezing your pineapple juice in ice-cube trays, use larger containers, such as small or medium freezer safe bowls or storage containers.
When it’s time for your party guests to arrive, add your frozen pineapple juice to your punch bowl, then pour in equal parts lemonade and Cherry 7UP.
The bigger pieces of frozen juice will take longer to melt, and keep your punch bowl cold longer.
I like to keep a variety of 7UP handy all summer long because it’s such a great way to add a little pizzazz to drinks and frozen treats.
And since I’m at Walmart several times a week, it’s easy to stay stocked up on our favorite varieties of 7UP.
Here are some other great ways to use 7UP and Cherry 7UP this summer:
- Add it to your favorite fruit juices to create “sparkling sodas”
- Pour it over sherbet, sorbet or gelato for a refreshing, fruity float
- Freeze berries, peaches and other summer fruits and use them as ice cubes for your 7UP
- Add flavored syrup along with a splash of half and half to your 7UP for an Italian-style cream soda

I did not read the recipe all the way and just dump all the ingredients together, vs freezing the pineapple juice, it was well liked anyway
