Unlike other cream cheese spreads, the cranberry and jalapeno mixture is cooked first, which brings out so many amazing flavors. I’ll be honest, I was a little skeptical of the whole process, but the results were amazing!
I couldn’t stop eating this stuff. And my husband also gave it two thumbs up. Something about cooking the cranberries and jalapenos in the orange and lemon juice really puts this spread in a league of it’s own.
And with the addition of some fresh green onions at the end, the colors are just perfect for the holiday season!
I was also pleased to learn that this spread kept for several days in the refrigerator. Which means you can make it ahead without any issues. It may have even tasted better after the flavors had a chance to mingle for 24 hours.
And this was so easy to put together. Honestly, the hardest part was waiting for the cranberry mixture to cool before mixing it into the cream cheese. Patience is not my forte.
I like to serve this with an assortment of crackers, but I imagine it would also be delicious on slices of toasted baguette. If you’ll be serving a crowd, I’d highly recommend doubling the recipe.

Here’s what you’ll need to make Cranberry Jalapeno Cream Cheese Spread
- Dried cranberries
- Brown sugar
- Orange juice
- Produce: jalapenos, green onions
- Lemon juice
- Cream cheese
- Crackers, for serving
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries, coarsely chopped
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped fine
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
- Crackers, for serving
- In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, brown sugar, orange juice, jalapeno, lemon juice and cinnamon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes or until thickened. Cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Stir in cranberry mixture and chopped green onion. Refrigerate until serving. Serve with assorted crackers
