Rich and gooey chocolate brownies are swirled with dulce de leche caramel in this decadent dessert. Plan to get lots of requests for the recipe!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Most of the specialty brownie recipes I’ve tried don’t end up being any better than a good old chocolate brownie. But these Dulce de Leche Brownies are exceptional! Really exceptional.
I might even like these brownies more than my favorite, tried and true brownie recipe. And that’s really saying something, because I love my tried and true brownie recipe.
Best of all, these decadent, caramel swirled brownies don’t require much more effort than a regular brownie. In fact, they are easier to make than a lot of brownie recipes I’ve seen.
You’ll usually find canned dulce de leche in the baking aisle near the sweetened condensed milk, but if you really want to go all out, you can even make your own dulce de leche.
Because Dulce de Leche can be so thick, I really wasn’t sure how the “swirling” with a knife was going to go, but it worked just fine. Better than fine–these brownies were over-the-top amazing!

Now, if you’re anything like me, you’re probably wondering right now if you can take a shortcut and used a boxed brownie mix.
The answer is, yes you can! I’ve done it myself when I’m short on time, and the brownies still turn out perfect. Whether you make your brownies from scratch or use a box mix, I highly recommend doubling the recipe.
Whenever I serve the brownies or take them to a party or potluck, I never come home with leftovers, and I get lots of requests for the recipe. Which doesn’t surprise me at all.
These brownies are rich and gooey–the perfect combination of chocolate and caramel. In fact, I think Dulce de Leche brownies are absolutely brilliant!

Where might I buy Dulce De Leche? Or maybe I should ask where it would be in the grocery store?

I tried these on Sunday night and my husband went crazy! I cheated a bit and just used a box mix but they still turned out great! My husband said he doesn’t think he can eat plain ol’ brownies again after trying these. Thanks for such a great idea! I’ve loved everything I’ve ever made from your site!
