What You’ll Want to Know First
Here are a few ingredient highlights and tips to make sure everything turns out just right.
- Pork chops: Bone-in cuts stay moist and flavorful—aim for about ½-inch thick.
- Mushrooms: Cremini mushrooms are a favorite, but any variety (even portabellas) will work beautifully.
- Beef broth + cream: This duo gives the gravy its rich, velvety texture.
- Montreal seasoning: Adds bold flavor, but feel free to use your go-to seasoning blend.
- Worcestershire sauce: Just a splash rounds out the gravy with a subtle savory note.
Dry pork chops? Not on our watch.
Recipe Tips
- Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking—145°F is the sweet spot.
- Brown first, finish in the gravy: Searing builds flavor while keeping the inside tender.
- Let them rest for a few minutes before serving to lock in juices.
What to Serve on the Side
This dish practically begs for something to soak up all that creamy gravy. A few favorites:
- Garlic Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes
- Homemade Rice-a-Roni
- Crispy Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes
- Buttered egg noodles
- Steamed green beans or roasted Brussels sprouts for a veggie balance
Storing & Reheating Leftovers
Got leftovers? This dish reheats like a dream.
- Reheat: Warm gently on the stove over low heat, adding a splash of broth or cream if the sauce thickens too much.
- Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Add a Twist
Want to shake things up a little?
- Use chicken cutlets instead of pork for a lighter version
- Add a splash of white wine to the gravy for extra depth
- Try a dijon mustard swirl in the sauce for a tangy touch
- Stir in some spinach or peas near the end for extra color and veggies
