Sweet Chipotle Barbecue Meatballs

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

These Sweet Chipotle Barbecue Meatballs are the perfect easy appetizer for game day get together and holiday celebrations. Easy and delicious, they’re always a hit with kids and adults alike.

Between football watching, and the holidays, I always serve (and eat) a lot of appetizers this time of year, and cocktail meatballs are one of my favorite hors d’oeuvres.

With the help of precooked, frozen meatballs, it’s so simple to throw together a yummy sauce, and then just warm everything in the slow cooker for a few hours.

I’m always trying to come up with great new “flavors” for my party meatballs, and this chipotle barbecue version was a bit hit with my family.

I’m already planning to make these meatballs for both Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I have a feeling they’ll be one of the first things to disappear.

Sweet Chipotle Barbecue Meatballs

The sweet and spicy sauce for these meatballs starts with a bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce. Whisk that together with some raspberry jam, Worcestershire sauce and chipotles in adobo and you’re in business!

Chipotles in adobo are a canned pepper, usually found in the Mexican food section of the grocery store. They are super spicy, so start out with less–you can always add more.

I never use a whole can at once, but extras can be placed in small zip-tops bags and frozen. I usually put two peppers per bag, since I never use more than that in a recipe.

If the combination of ingredients seems strange to you, trust me, it all comes together in the perfect blend of flavors. And yes, you can use homemade meatballs in this recipe. Just before you cook them before adding them to the slow cooker.

These Sweet Chipotle Barbecue Meatballs will be making a regular appearance at our house–especially on game days and holidays. I hope you love them as much as we do!

Thanks for the baking time and yes using parchment paper is always a fast clean up. Used my own recipe, also the same as above, did not use milk in mine, but usually do, just didnโ€™t. I love the seasoning from Weber, its their Roasted Garlic & Herb Seasoning! Yes the oven is smelling Great! I have my seedless cucumbers all cut up, fresh sliced tomatoes, and rice is almost done. My sinfully chocolate cakes was baked last night, and added a few flower candies on top! Ice tea to finish off my meal for a family get together! Have a Great Evening, ooopss! Theyโ€™re done! Gotta go!
