Hello and welcome to Let’s Dish, where I dish about my favorite foods and recipes. A friend once described my culinary creations as “uptown foodie meets real life,” which sums up my cooking philosophy perfectly.
I try to keep things simple in the kitchen. I rarely cook anything that takes a long time or has a long list of ingredients. But that doesn’t mean our meals lack flavor or flair!
My recipes are tested and approved by my husband, three sons, and on occasion, by my two beautiful daughters-in-law.
Some of the recipes I share are original creations. Others are my adaptations of recipes I’ve collected over the years. You’ll find recipes from friends, favorite cookbooks and food blogs, and a few special recipes that have been handed down from grandmothers and great-grandmothers.
I’ll encourage you to visit the farmers’ market one day and share a recipe made with canned soup the next, because sometimes you just need to feed the family in quick, no-hassle fashion. I keep artisan oils and vinegars in the pantry and a tub of Cool Whip in the freezer. That’s what uptown foodie meets real life is all about.
I have a degree in Advertising from Brigham Young University, and I love using that knowledge here at Let’s Dish. My recipes have been featured in Colorado Life Magazine, Utah Life Magazine, Nebraska Life Magazine, BYU Today and LDS Living Magazine.
I hope you love the recipes you try. Thanks so much for visiting!

I just found your website and I have to say, I love it!! I can see myself coming here first for any recipes I need. As a matter of fact, I already have the app and dessert that I was requested to bring for the 4th of July weekend! I’m going to make the pan fried onion dip and the mini berry tarts wit the filling from the Fresh Fruit tart! Looks sooo yummy!!

I’m a small town Wyoming girl, transplanted to Colorado too! What part of WY did you live in? I just found your blog, and have already printed several recipes. Thanks!
Danelle
Hi, I just ran across your blog and noticed that we have the same name which is extremely rare. I have only heard of about 2 other people that share my name. Mine is a mixture of my dad’s name Dan and my mother La Nelle. its a southern thing I think. I’m just curious about the origin of yours if you know….and I love the recipe and can’t wait to try it.

I just made/ate/and blogged about your yummy Chicken with mustard cream sauce. It is amazing. Please check out my blog post–I gave you and Martha full credit. Because of your recommendation I had to purchase the Great Food Fast by Everyday Food. I have plenty I want to make. Thanks for all you do to further the work of good but sometimes simple food–that is high on flavor.
If you ever get to Utah county–let me know I would love to by you lunch at Kneaders!

My youngest will be starting his senior year in the fall. I have always sent my kids off to school with a hot healthy breakfast each day and am super excited to try your breakfast recipes. For his last year at home, before the dreaded college cafeteria food, I plan to incorporate a lot of your yummy sounding recipes. Thanks so much for taking the time to contribute. I look forward to all your new additions.

Hi Danelle,
I knew I’d like your site when I saw the cranberry swirl bread. Little did I know I’d like it even more since we share a very unique name. I love to cook for my kids and grandkids. You have some great recipes and I’ll be following coming back often. So nice to meet a fellow “no I” Danelle.

What happened to the berry cobbler that you had on here?! It was the best!
Danelle
Sarah, I don’t know why I just noticed this, but I’m hoping you see the reply. I think this is the fruit cobbler you are looking for–it is one of the posts that got temporarily lost when I transferred to Wordpress. But here it is with an updated photo–exact same recipe though. https://letsdishrecipes.com/2009/10/easy-fruit-cobbler.html

Thank you so much! My family will be so excited to have this cobbler back! It really is one of the best! 🙂

Mary, I live in Colorado (but we used to live in Victoria, BC, so I know how you feel). My recipes aren’t necessarily adapted for high altitude, although I have made my own changes to several. But they are all recipes that seem to work for me here.
Mary
Danelle – I am loving your blog! I’m curious if you live in Utah only because it’s where I currently live and I have a really hard time baking (I’m originally from Oregon). If your recipes are already high altitude based, then that will make my life way easier! Happy cooking.

Hi Danelle! I love your blog and it has enspired me to start a recipe blog of my own. Your recipes are amazing! Can I post some of them to my blog page to share as long as I credit you as where I got it originally? Just made your cheesy basil stuffed chicken and it was amazing. My family and I look forward to using more.

Danelle, i have a question for you since you are a food photography expert. I live in a basement apartment that doesn’t get great natural light through windows. Is my best bet for a good pic to take my food outside to photograph?
jenn
Hi Danielle! I just found your blog through tastespotting and I like what I see. I also like to make simpler things, without a ton of ingredients or super expensive either. Thanks for the tips on your camera!
