My kids really love these, and we’ve made them a few times and changed up the type of graham crackers and chocolate chips we used.

After rigorous taste testing, our favorite combination is cinnamon graham crackers with milk chocolate chips, and that’s what I’ve shared in the recipe.

But you can certainly use regular graham crackers and semi-sweet chocolate chips and the results are also pretty tasty!

Ingredients

  • 1 14 oz. box cinnamon graham crackers (3 sleeves)
  • 1 12 oz. bag milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 2 14 oz. cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9×13 inch pan with aluminum foil, leaving an overhang, and spray foil with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place graham crackers in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until you have fine crumbs.
  • In a large bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chips, pecans, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and salt. Mix until well combined.
  • Spread the batter into the prepared pan (I used slightly damp hands to press the batter into the pan). Bake for about 25 minutes, or until just set. Do not overbake.
  • Cool completely. Lift bars from pan using the foil overhang. Cut into squares. Place the powdered sugar in a medium bowl. Gently toss the squares in powdered sugar to coat. Store in an airtight container.

In reading the instructions, I interpret you only use powdered sugar for dusting bars after they have baked. Is this correct, some stated they put the sugar in with mixture which I think is incorrect?

Oh I see now. Itโ€™s the way it was printed! 14g sugar. My bad!

  • Jill Davis-Yelle

How do you get 1 gram of sugar per serving lol? Iโ€™ll certainly try this recipe however!

These were a hit! I had to bake mine longer. I was afraid I overboaked, but they ended up being perfect. Iโ€™m going to try these without the nuts this week. I hope they turn out as well. Delicious!

Greetings! Quick question that’s completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks weird when browsing from my apple iphone. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to correct this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share. Appreciate it!

  • Can these be frozen?

  • Kelli Theller

I buy the packaged Graham cracker crumbs, how many cups should I use? Thank you

  • Susan Johnson

Oh, wow, but these are good! One corner of my bars stuck to the foil so naturally I had to taste test. They are not completely cooled yet. I will save most of the pan to try with the powdered sugar. However, these are very tasty without the sugar. Also, I did not have milk chocolate chips so I used half semi-sweet chips and white chocolate chips. Try these! They may sound a little weird but they are so good.

I think you are my twin! I was going t write almost exactly the same thing! Theyโ€™re plenty sweet as you and I made them, and if Iโ€™d use powdered sugar at all, Iโ€™d just dust them. Theyโ€™re very good!

These were great even though I had to make a few adjustments for what I had on hand. I used fat free sweetened condensed milk and low-fat cinnamon grahams. I didn’t have any nuts so I increased the chocolate, using a mixture of milk chocolate and semisweet. And I skipped the powered sugar at the end. They are really good and addictive.

hi, I don’t have a processor to make the crumbs, any suggestions?? My 4 yr old granddaughter has an allergy to nuts & eggs so its sometimes hard to make a dessert that she can have that doesn’t have one or the other. If I leave out should I substitute with something else? Or if left out will the bar still work?? I really want to try this & esp for her so I hope I get an answer back to my questions Thanks so much. Sandy

A blender might work. Just blend in small batches.

I would put the graham crackers in a ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin. You might have a few larger pieces that way, but I think it would work. I would probably crush one sleeve at a time. That’s the way I always made crumbs before I had a food processor. A blender might work too. They are the main ingredient in the recipe, so you couldn’t really leave them out.

  • How many cups of graham cracker crumbs does this take? I like buying the crumbs. Thanks!

  • I plan to make these. They look delicious. I plan to halve the recipe- a 9โ€ pan. Should I adjust the baking time? Not sure how to test them to see if done.

  • What brand of sweetened condensed milk did you use? I added up all the calories of the ingredients and wasn’t able to get anywhere close to the 106 calories you listed. I know different brands have different caloric values so I was just wondering what brands you used to be able to get the 106 calorie per bar? Thanks for the great recipes!

I made these tonight (using white chocolate chips I had on hand). Major fail though, I only had one can of sweetened condensed milk! I had already mixed everything so I just melted a stick of butter and used it to sub the second can of milk. Baked for 23 minutes and WOW they are delicious! Iโ€™ll try the original recipe next time but thankfully this hack worked and Iโ€™m one happy baker. Thanks!

Interesting flavor and texture that is hard to pinpoint…in a good way!

  • Mine came out a little soft, but I was worried about overbaking. Delicious!!!

We made these today and they didn’t turn out anything like your picture. They were a sticky gooey mess! 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk is that correct. So disappointed! A lot of good and expensive product wasted! ๐Ÿ™

    • Maybe you put the 2 cups of powdered sugar in the batter, instead it meaning to use on top after baking? I thought that looked like a lot of sugar to put in the batter since the condensed milk is so sweetโ€ฆ so I put in only one cup! Wrong! But since I used coconut instead of chocolate chips that may have saved themโ€ฆ.donโ€™t know yet, still in the oven

    • So negative! What good did this mean-girl post really provide?

I’m sorry they didn’t work for you, but yes, 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk is correct. Maybe they just needed to bake a bit longer? Mine cut almost like a brownie or cookie bar when they are cooked and cooled, so I’m not sure what could have gone wrong.
