Every once in a while, you come across a crazy recipe that actually works–like these Magic Chocolate Graham Bars.
Who would think that graham crackers and sweetened condensed milk would bake up into a chewy, delicious bar? Without any flour or eggs! Like I said, it’s crazy, but it’s also crazy delicious!
Made these for a party and they were a hit! Interesting flavor and texture that is hard to pinpoint…in a good way! ~ Lourdes
My kids really love these, and we’ve made them a few times and changed up the type of graham crackers and chocolate chips we used.
After rigorous taste testing, our favorite combination is cinnamon graham crackers with milk chocolate chips, and that’s what I’ve shared in the recipe.
But you can certainly use regular graham crackers and semi-sweet chocolate chips and the results are also pretty tasty!
These are absolutely delicious!!! My family can’t stop eating them. This will be the “go to” recipe for all my family gatherings ~ Angee

Magic Chocolate Graham Bars
These powdered sugar coated cookie bars have a somewhat crazy ingredient list, but they're absolutely delicious and so easy to make!
Ingredients
- 1 (14 oz.) box cinnamon graham crackers (3 sleeves)
- 1 (12 oz.) bag milk chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
- 2 (14 oz.) cans sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9x13 inch pan with aluminum foil, leaving an overhang, and spray foil with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place graham crackers in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until you have fine crumbs.
- In a large bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chips, pecans, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan (I used slightly damp hands to press the batter into the pan). Bake for about 25 minutes, or until just set. Do not overbake.
- Cool completely. Lift bars from pan using the foil overhang. Cut into squares. Place the powdered sugar in a medium bowl. Gently toss the squares in powdered sugar to coat. Store in an airtight container.

We made these today and they didn’t turn out anything like your picture. They were a sticky gooey mess! 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk is that correct. So disappointed! A lot of good and expensive product wasted! 🙁
Danelle
I’m sorry they didn’t work for you, but yes, 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk is correct. Maybe they just needed to bake a bit longer? Mine cut almost like a brownie or cookie bar when they are cooked and cooled, so I’m not sure what could have gone wrong.
Hmm
So negative! What good did this mean-girl post really provide?
Toni
Mine came out a little soft, but I was worried about overbaking. Delicious!!!

I made these tonight (using white chocolate chips I had on hand). Major fail though, I only had one can of sweetened condensed milk! I had already mixed everything so I just melted a stick of butter and used it to sub the second can of milk. Baked for 23 minutes and WOW they are delicious! I’ll try the original recipe next time but thankfully this hack worked and I’m one happy baker. Thanks!

What brand of sweetened condensed milk did you use? I added up all the calories of the ingredients and wasn’t able to get anywhere close to the 106 calories you listed. I know different brands have different caloric values so I was just wondering what brands you used to be able to get the 106 calorie per bar? Thanks for the great recipes!
Judy
I plan to make these. They look delicious. I plan to halve the recipe- a 9” pan. Should I adjust the baking time? Not sure how to test them to see if done.
Denise
How many cups of graham cracker crumbs does this take? I like buying the crumbs. Thanks!
Sandy Roth
hi, I don’t have a processor to make the crumbs, any suggestions?? My 4 yr old granddaughter has an allergy to nuts & eggs so its sometimes hard to make a dessert that she can have that doesn’t have one or the other. If I leave out should I substitute with something else? Or if left out will the bar still work?? I really want to try this & esp for her so I hope I get an answer back to my questions Thanks so much. Sandy

I would put the graham crackers in a ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin. You might have a few larger pieces that way, but I think it would work. I would probably crush one sleeve at a time. That’s the way I always made crumbs before I had a food processor. A blender might work too. They are the main ingredient in the recipe, so you couldn’t really leave them out.

These were great even though I had to make a few adjustments for what I had on hand. I used fat free sweetened condensed milk and low-fat cinnamon grahams. I didn’t have any nuts so I increased the chocolate, using a mixture of milk chocolate and semisweet. And I skipped the powered sugar at the end. They are really good and addictive.
