Easy Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Cake

When it comes to decadent chocolate desserts, it doesn’t get much easier than this Easy Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Cake.

If you’ve ever had a chocolate lava cake–or warm chocolate pudding cake–you know how dreamy and delicious they are. And in this recipe, the slow cooker does most of the work for you.

Basically, you mix up the chocolate cake batter, put it in your slow cooker, then top it off with dollops of chocolate pudding and loads of chocolate chips.

Three hours later you have a moist, rich, spoon-able dessert that any chocolate lover will go crazy for. Pretty much everyone who tries this cake falls in love with it.

And no one needs to know how easy it is to make–that can be your little secret. To make clean-up quick and easy too, use a slow cooker liner. Easy peasy!

Easy Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Cake

Although the recipe calls for a devil’s food cake mix, you can use any chocolate cake mix with good results. Same goes for the pudding–there are several versions of chocolate pudding available, and any will work in this recipe.

I like to serve this cake with fresh berries to contrast with the richness of the chocolate and pudding. And of course, whipped cream or vanilla ice cream is a must!

This does make enough to serve a crowd, so if you have leftovers, simply spoon a serving into a microwave safe bowl and heat until warm and gooey.

Another reason I love this recipe, besides the fact that it’s ridiculously easy, is that it frees up space in my oven for cooking main dishes and sides. And I always have the ingredients on hand!

Next time a chocolate craving strikes, whip up this Easy Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Cake. You won’t regret it!
