FRITOS SNACK MIX — Fritos corn chips are mixed with cereal, pretzels, nuts and chocolate pieces, then covered in a sweet brown sugar glaze in the ultimate sweet and salty snack mix!
I’m a huge fan of sweet and salty snacks, so this Fritos Snack Mix was right up my alley! It’s loaded with mostly salty ingredients like chips, nuts and pretzels, then smothered in a sweet coating–it’s pretty much the perfect sweet and salty combination.
My kids loved this stuff as much as I did. My husband wasn’t too sure–he’s never been a fan of sweet and salty anything. Which is just weird if you ask me.
But he also doesn’t like Indian food, so I’m not sure he can be trusted.
I’ve tried a lot of different snack mixes over the years, and this is one of my favorites. Although most have contained a combination of sweet and salty ingredients, it’s the Fritos that make me love this recipe the most.
Of course, there are tons of ways you could adapt this recipe, but the Fritos are what makes it special, so change whatever else you like, but don’t change that!
I used Crispix cereal in this recipe, but you could easily sub Rice or Corn Chex. And any shape of pretzel will work–even pretzel goldfish! Pretty much an kind of nut will work here too.
I love how the mini M&M’s add a splash of color, and of course a taste of chocolate! Regular sized M&M’s, or even pretzel or peanut M&M’s would be great in this snack mix too.
Just be sure to add them after the mix has cooled, so they don’t melt!
This stuff is great for parties, game day, movie night, or pretty much any time you’re craving a sweet and salty snack. I store it in a large zip top bag or airtight container, and it will last almost a week. Although it usually disappears before then!
If you’re a fan of all things sweet and salty, like me, or your just looking for a fun and unique new snack mix to try, you’ve got to make this Fritos Snack Mix! Enjoy!
