Green Onion Cheese Ball

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

So many of our family’s holiday traditions center around food. For example, I always make this Green Onion Cheese Ball at Christmas time, and it’s one of the reasons I look forward to the holidays!

I first tried it years ago when my friend, Leann, brought it to a holiday party. It was the best cheese ball I’d ever had, and when she shared the recipe, I couldn’t believe the short ingredient list.

The green onions are definitely the star of the recipe, along with a little-known spice called Beau Monde Seasoning. I can usually find the Spice Island brand on store shelves, but if not, it’s available online.

You an also find recipes for Beau Monde seasoning online. It’s just simple spices like onion and garlic powder, and celery seed–things you probably already have in your pantry or cupboard.

I serve this cheese ball appetizer every holiday season, and it always gets rave reviews. I’m almost embarrassed to tell people how easy it is to make.

I’ve found that the easiest (although not the neatest) way to mix this up is with my hands. I nice, sturdy wooden spoon will get the job done too.

Don’t be fooled by the short list of ingredients. This cheese ball is delicious and full of flavor. This is now my go to recipe after years of trying other, less amazing cheese balls.

I mean, just four ingredients? I always thought cheese balls had to be loaded with all kinds of stuff to be truly delicious, but this recipe proves that theory wrong in so many ways!

I could honestly eat the whole thing myself. Luckily, my husband and kids love it too, which helps curb my holiday weight gain a bit. I often make smaller cheese balls as neighbor gifts and deliver them with a box of crackers.

I’ve had more than one person tell me they ate the whole thing in one sitting too. So if you’re looking for the perfect cheese ball for the holidays, this is Green Onion Cheese Ball is the recipe for you!
