GRILLED TANDOORI STYLE CHICKEN — Chicken is marinated in Greek yogurt and tandoori spices, then skewered and grilled to perfection in this simple, east to make meal. Delicious served with mango chutney and fresh mint!
Sometimes, the simplest meals are the most delicious, and this Grilled Tandoori Style Chicken is no exception!
Tender chunks of chicken are marinated in a blend of Greek yogurt and spices, then grilled and served over hot cooked rice in this quick and easy dinner that will please even the pickiest eaters.
My entire family devoured this chicken, and left me wishing I had doubled the recipe–especially with three hungry boys in the house! Plus, there’s just something about a kabob that makes eating fun!
I loved this chicken with some mango chutney on the side, but some homemade Tzatziki Sauce would also be great as a dip for those chunks of spicy grilled chicken.
Not only does the blend of paprika, cayenne and turmeric add great flavor to this chicken, it adds great color as well. Which makes the a beautiful grilled dish for entertaining too!
And although I can’t explain the science of it, I’m pretty sure something about marinating the chicken in yogurt makes it super tender and juicy!
I like to marinate my chicken chunks for at least 2 hours, but the longer the better. Overnight is best of all!
Pro tip: If you’re using wooden skewers, be sure to soak them in water before you grill your chicken, so they don’t burn too badly.
As fun as kabobs are, I’m sure this combination of ingredients would be equally delicious on chicken breasts, or even drumsticks, thighs or wings.
Served over a bed of hot cooked rice, this is the kind of easy but crowd pleasing meal that will be making a regular appearance on my dinner menu.

Tips for Grilling Chicken
Add flavor first: Season your chicken liberally, and well in advance of grilling, whenever possible. Brines, dry rubs and marinades are all great ways to add flavor to grilled chicken.
If you’ll be basting with barbecue sauce, wait until the last few minutes of cooking time so it doesn’t burn.
Prep your grill: Make sure you have enough fuel, then rub some oil onto clean and preheated grates right before cooking so the chicken doesn’t stick.
When is it done? Poultry should be cooked until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Check the temperature by inserting the probe of a thermometer into the thickest part of the chicken, without touching the bone.
If you don’t have a thermometer, cut into the center of the meat. The juices should run clear and the meat should no longer be pink.
