From crepes and waffles to breakfast casseroles and hash browns, you’re sure to find a recipe to help celebrate those magical holiday mornings.

Best Holiday Breakfast Recipes

I’m not one for making and serving a big breakfast, even on the weekends. I mean, who has time for that? Not me! Which means my kids have eaten a lot of muffins, pastries and cold cereal over the years.

But I do like to make something special for holidays and other important occasions, like birthdays. Whether you need a fun and festive breakfast idea for Christmas morning, or a collection of recipes for a Mother’s Day brunch, you’re sure to find it here.

One of my favorite holiday breakfast strategies is to use a “make-ahead” recipe, and you’ll find plenty of those–both sweet and savory–in this list. There are recipes for waffles, pancakes, savory egg dishes, Tex-Mex breakfasts, parfaits, potatoes and so much more.

And since I’ve usually got plenty of extra help in the kitchen during the holidays season, it’s a great time to get everyone involved in the kitchen. Who knows? You might even find a recipe or two that will inspire a new holiday tradition.

Tips For Serving a Festive Holiday Breakfast or Brunch

  • Offer a variety of sweet and savory items, as well as a few options for those with dietary restrictions. It’s perfectly fine to serve a selection of store-bought pastries and baked goods alongside a few homemade dishes.
  • If you’re inviting family and friends, make it a potluck! No need for you to do all of the work.
  • Do as much as you can ahead of time. Use make-ahead, freezer, and slow cooker recipes where possible. Set out your dishes the night before.
  • Don’t forget to relax and let everyone help out. You’ll never regret making one less dish so you can have more time to spend with family and friends. You don’t even have to do anything fancy. If your family prefers a fun, cold-cereal Christmas morning meal, then that’s what you should serve!
